Irvine City Council member Jeff Lalloway this week introduced an ordinance to limit pedophiles access to Irvine parks. You will not believe the response fellow council members Larry Agran and Beth Krom had for this no-brainer issue. Listen in to find out more.
The OC Register recently proved once again it’s the leader in puff-piece stories about half-assed politicians. Last week they featured OC Supervisor Janet Nguyen in her new status as mother/politician. They followed Nguyen for a few hours around the office and snapped pictures of her in the office conducting county business…with baby in arms.
And you wonder why nothing can get done in government.
While the pictures are all warm and fuzzy, and I have no issue with Janet having a kid, the pictures struck me as symbolic of the citizen/politician disconnect we have been witnessing for so long in this country. Ask yourself this, especially you working women, how often do you get to take your baby to work, let alone a staff meeting?
Who can concentrate with such a distraction???
Unless you run your own business my guess is never. Why does Janet get to bring her baby to work? Is that what we are paying her for? I would like to think baby Nguyen was brought to the office as a one time thing to feature Janet as a great mother (although a great mother stays home with the kids and certainly doesn’t use them as a political prop). But then I ran across this photo…
The kid must be there all the time.
It must be nice to be the Queen. You can do whatever you want and no one will question you. Government is broken. Our politicians are corrupted. They don’t care about you or your family. They only care about enriching themselves and their cronies. They spend your money without care and then demand more for projects that benefit the smallest sections of the population while ignoring the greater good.
They look down on you. They have forgotten that they work for us.
So while you have to run around in the morning taking your kids to school or daycare and then rush out of work in the afternoon to pick them up and get them to after school activities, rest easy knowing that Janet Nguyen has your back and can feel your pain.

Speechless
I stumbled across this little gem in the OC Register yesterday regarding the Public Administrator/Public Guardian issue going on right now. Here is a quote from the first paragraph:
“Assistant Public Administrator/Public Guardian Peggi Buff, who was hired without having any experience and promoted from executive assistant to second-in-command of the Public Administrator’s office after five years, will be removed from her position and moved to a lower-paying county job as a result of a Board of Supervisors-ordered human resources audit, Total Buzz has learned.”
Only the best and the brightest get promoted in this place.
As you can see, I highlighted the sentence, “hired without having any experience”. I find it very interesting that people associated with our D.A. Tony Rackauckas (Peggi Buff is engaged to Rackauckas) who have very little experience keep getting promoted to positions they don’t deserve. During the five years Buff worked at the PA/PG’s office she went from $62,400 per year to $119,974 per year. Not a bad gig for someone who is unqualified.
Hmmmmm….reminds me of another someone who is completely unqualified to hold the current position she is in. Let’s think, she has never tried a felony trial in her life, she makes an obscene amount of money for doing nothing, rose to the number two position in a short amount of time, and is also unqualified for the current job she has. Oh yeah, Susan Kang Schroeder, husband of Michael J. Schroeder, both of whom lead Rackauckus around by the nose.
